Oktoberfest a double header in McHenry
Oktoberfest is a celebration of German culture that takes place in communities all over the world, and McHenry County is having two such celebrations next month.
The first will be the 6th annual Octoberfest in Woodstock. This celebration is part of the Woodstock Mozart Festival and proceeds will be donated to the Woodstock Rotary Foundation. Music will be provided by Flying Fingers Stas Venglevsky. There will be lots of German food, beer, wine, and polka dancing. Guests can also buy raffle tickets.
Later on in the month, McHenry Sunrise Rotary will be holding an Oktoberfest of its own. There will be plenty of food, beer, and music. Admission tickets include a commemorative mug, one free sausage and fries, and unlimited beer sampling.
Oktoberfest attracts people of all cultures, and to advertise upcoming events such as these in advance, McHenry print companies are often asked to provide flyers and brochures.
Oktoberfest Woodstock will take place at Emricson Park on October 6 from 4:00 to 10:30 PM. Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door. Contact Denise at 815-338-8844 to learn more.
