For many years, painter Bob Ross guided fans through the process of creating painting of trees, landscapes, and a variety of other subjects on his show, which aired on PBS. An event that will follow his unique style of painting “happy little trees” has been planned for McHenry, and it promises to help bring out people’s inner artists.
The group who attends the Fabric, Fiber and Finds painting workshop will learn how to paint a landscape using techniques made popular by Ross, and they will be guided by an experienced artist. All the materials needed to finish the project are included in the admission price, and it will be a relaxed and low-key affair.
Attendees are welcome to pack a bottle of wine or other beverages and a snack to share, and bottle openers and Drinkware will be provided. The planners have made a request that anyone who attends the session should bring along an extra pair of indoor shoes or slippers to help keep snow and salt out of the building.
Fabric, Fiber and Finds is located in the lower level of the Pilates Studio at 39 North Williams Street in Crystal Lake. Leaflets with eye-catching graphics can be a cost effective way to promote an event like this, and they can be designed and produced by a local flyer printing company.
This tip of the brush to Bob Ross will be taking place on March 15. It will kick off at 7:00 pm.
