The new theater has been undergoing construction since February of this year and is part of a five-year plan to revive the tourist economy in the city. Along with the new movie theater, residents will also be receiving a new restaurant, which will be stationed adjacent to the new location. D.C. Cobb’s, a restaurant located in Woodstock that serves food such as gourmet burgers, as well as draft beer, is expected to open in February of next year.
The city is excited about the new movie theater due to the current lack of an indoor theater location. Scott Dehn, current manager of the McHenry drive-in theater and future manager of the new McHenry indoor theater, expressed his excitement for the opening next year, saying to NWHerald.com:
“I want a fun, clean, family-friendly experience and I’ve got a few tricks up my sleeve that I know other theaters don’t offer. Every time they come there, they will remember something special about it.”
