McHenry area luncheon to highlight importance of organ donation

A recipient of a donor organ will be “paying it forward” by organizing an event that will raise awareness of the impact choosing to be an organ donor can have.

After receiving a donor kidney from her sister, Agnieszka Rapacz decided that she wanted to help others who were also in need of this type of lifesaving gift. Four years ago, she hosted the first ever ‘Second Chance Luncheon’ to help bring this issue to the public’s attention, and they have been held each year since.

Those who live in McHenry are welcome to be among the crowd that attends this awareness raising event which will be held in the Boulder Ridge Country Club. Guests will learn about the importance of bone marrow, organ, corneal, and tissue donation and transplantation, and they will also discover the difference these can make in the recipient’s life.

One of the goals of the luncheon will be to help increase the number of organ donors in the state. Distributing items that include an attention-grabbing infographic or another graphic design can make a big impact, and these can be prepared for this sort of event by a professional printing company.

This year’s Second Chance Luncheon will be welcoming guests starting at 12:00 noon on June 2nd. Tickets start at $8 each.
