MC3 to have 10th annual law-enforcement fundraiser

This year, MC3, a business networking group from the McHenry Area Chamber of Commerce, will be carrying on with its ‘Shop with a Cop’ program.

Shop with a Cop is a program that benefits underprivileged children nominated by community members. A police officer will then take that child, and sometimes their siblings, shopping for $150 worth of holiday goods. Each child will also receive a coat, a hat, some gloves, and some boots.

In order to raise enough money to support the initiative, MC3 scours the area for those interested in donating money for the prizes and auctions that will be occurring at the Shop with a Cop fundraising party. Richard Rostron, an MC3 member who owns marketing services company Rich Publicity, had to say this about the Shop With a Cop party:

“The music is always great, the food is awesome and the prizes are abundant. For me, the prizes are a chance to do some of my own holiday shopping. When I have the winning bid or raffle ticket, I can scratch someone's name off my Christmas list. It's fun, productive and a great cause."

The Shop with a Cop fundraiser party will be taking place this Saturday, November 19 at the McHenry VFW, 3002 IL-120, McHenry, IL 60051. It will cost $5 to attend.
