Residents in and around McHenry can celebrate the holiday season early this year.
'Christmas at the Dole' and 'Winter Fest' is a two-day event filled with shopping opportunities, outdoor festivities, family friendly activities, kids’ crafts, and musical acts.
The annual fundraiser will support the Lakeside Legacy Foundation, a nonprofit organization created to help preserve Lakeside Legacy Arts Park and the historic Dole Mansion. The organization likely sends out Holiday Cards each year to thank its supporters.
Guests can enjoy a Christmas-themed First Friday Art show, where there will be adorned Christmas trees, a tree lighting, ballerinas, and music. Attendees can see ‘The Gifts’ display in the Dole Gallery and the ‘Winter Sentiments’ display in the Sage Gallery. The First Friday Art Show will take place on December 4 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
Guests can attend a concert from Cassandra Vohs-Demann and John Hegner at The Listening Room, an intimate venue at the Lakeside Legacy Arts Park. The concert will be held on December 4 at 8:00 pm.
The Winter Fest will take place on December 5 from 11:00 am until 4:00 pm. There will be both indoor and outdoor activities at this festival. Volunteer elves are needed to help at this event.
