Local fundraiser will help send a girl to school
The Rise to the Challenge Scholarship fundraiser is taking place next month, and is a presentation of the Women in McHenry County.
Proceeds from this event will go towards a $1,000 Challenge Scholarship to be awarded to a graduating female senior. The winner is a girl who has faced a variety of challenges in her life. This year's recipient is Kyla Singleton.
Guests will be served hors d'oeuvres and desserts. There will also be a cash bar offering a signature cocktail. In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to bid on a silent auction.
Entertainment will be provided by comedienne Julie Ostrow, and Dr. Felicia Thomas from McHenry County College Culinary Arts program will be giving a speech.
This is just one of the many fundraisers held by Women in McHenry County throughout the year. The next event coming up is the Women of Achievement Award luncheon in April.
McHenry stationery printers may be asked to provide printed invitations that will be mailed out to members of the organization.
