Lakefest 2016 is taking place this month for three days in Island Lake.
The festival will have plenty of family friendly activities that should appeal to everyone. As with most festivals, there will be lots of amusement rides and games for people of all ages to enjoy. The Lions Club will be hosting a beer garden for the adults, and there will be food and drink available for purchase for everyone at a number of concessions.
There is set to be a craft fair featuring handmade items for sale and musical entertainment from DJ Wayne, and such bands as Reely Dan, Going South, and Pirates Over 40.
St. John’s Church parking lot will be hosting a car show. The entry fee is $10 and the first 50 will receive dash plaques. Cars will be competing for various trophies. To find out more about this, call 224-656-2822.
Lastly, a fireworks show will be held on July 23 at Veterans Park.
