What's Happening in McHenry, IL…

Library to teach preschool arts and craft

McHenry’s public library will host a short arts and craft class for young children in the city. The class is titled Little Explorers – Design Challenge.

The class aims to teach children age three to six all about the world around them. Organizers encourage participants to take risks and be creative, imaginative, and spontaneous. The library holds this event once every month. Each class tries to teach students through different activities, which include crafts, games, movies, and science experiments. Print shops will be utilized to produce some of these materials. For December’s class, the event organizers have prepared a limited set of materials, along with an open-ended prompt to help participants through the class. More details will be provided once the class starts.

The event will take place online through Zoom. The event organizers will provide a link to the Zoom call for all participants. The organizers will send the link over e-mail, so entrants are required to provide their e-mail address before the event.

The class will happen on November 30 between 1:30 PM and 2:00 PM. Registration can be done through McHenry Public Library’s website; openings are limited as there are only 35 spots available. Once registration is finished, parents can pick up the materials needed for the class. Event organizers will provide parents details on the pickup a week prior to the event.
