The 3rd annual Golf Outing and Dinner Auction for the Denise M. Flaherty Memorial Foundation is taking place next month in nearby Vernon Hills.
Registration for the tournament is open until May 6. Fees are $200 per person or $50 for each dinner alone.
The day will start off with a putting contest with a fee of $10 per person. It will then be followed by a lunch barbecue and open bar.
Next will be the shotgun start of the tournament, and free beverage carts will be provided throughout the course.
Later, there will be a two-hour open bar reception, which will be followed by a buffet dinner and awards banquet. The winner of the overall hole-in-one contest will win a car and there will be prizes on every hole. A gift auction will help to raise even more money for the organization, and sponsorships are available from $200 to $2,250.
The Foundation raises funds for the Memorial Sloan Cancer Center and to help individual cancer patients.
Events like this are also good networking opportunities, and no doubt many attending from the area, including those from McHenry, will be placing a new business card printing order in advance.
