Fundraising animal show prepares to trot in
The Hooved Animal Humane Society (HAHS) is holding its annual Picnic and Fun Horse, Pig, and Goat Show in the McHenry area very soon.
The horse show segment of the event will feature 27 different classes, including Open Walk-Trot, Pole Bending, and English Pleasure. Participants register for $5, plus a $2 office fee or $20 for six classes, and they must wear proper riding gear and helmets. There will be a special performance by the Midwest Renegades Equestrian Drill Team.
In addition to the competitions, there will be live music from Music Makers for Life, along with wagon rides, BBQ food for purchase, and a beer and wine garden. A special Kid Zone is set to feature inflatables, pumpkin painting, and crafts.
With ribbons and certificates likely to be handed out to winners of the horse show, printing companies based in McHenry and other surrounding areas are likely to play a role in making sure the organizers are amply supplied.
The Hooved Animal Human Society's Picnic will take place at the HAHS Farm in Woodstock on October 4 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. General admission is $5 for adults and free for children aged 10 and under, while admission to the separate Kid Zone is $5. Contact the society for more information about the show on 815-337-5563.
