Entrepreneurs looking for a new revenue stream will want to make a note in their Journals for next month, as a local college is offering educational opportunities.
The Specialty Growers Intensive Cut Flower Production workshop will kick off soon, welcoming growers and sellers of cut flowers to an immersive learning experience. The event will be held across two days, with participants learning the basics of growing, cutting, and marketing their flowers to potential customers.
Attendees will work with multiple instructors and receive a resource binder with the price of enrollment in the course. Catered lunches and snacks will also be provided on both days, and registered students with dietary restrictions or allergies are encouraged to inform the organizers in advance.
The learning experience will start with presentations on starting from seeds and transplants when beginning flower growing operations. Students will also learn more about harvesting and record-keeping. Four expert flower farmers will attend and teach at the seminar, with each leading students through a hands-on experience using high tunnels.
