A healing art event is being organized in McHenry to enhance family relationships and help area residents find common ground and a creative outlet.
The Healing Arts Workshop: Creating Calm Through Creativity, organized by area artist Alicia Londos, will begin welcoming area families in a few weeks for a calming, creative workshop for children and their parents. The event will allow participants to paint and connect through the creative pursuit, and is open to all ages.
Londos aims to help children from McHenry discover painting as a form of self-expression and is geared toward children with developmental delays and behavioral challenges. The setting will be a fun and creative art party, with participants able to choose from several packets to find a canvas that suits their interests. Printing services are an invaluable resource for canvas options when planning painting events like this.
The packets will feature summer themes, and painters will use acrylic paint to bring the canvases to life. Students will learn basic painting skills from instructors in a kind and immersive setting. Attendees are welcome to bring food and drinks from home, but no peanut products will be allowed in the venue for safety reasons.
The session is scheduled for Monday, June 23rd, and will be held at 5400 West Elm Street in McHenry at 5:30 PM. Tickets are available for $30 per person online.
