Annual summer festival returns to McHenry
McHenry Fiesta Days are taking place for 10 days next month. It is a presentation of the McHenry Chamber of Commerce.
There are a variety of activities and events taking place over course of the event. The first three days of the festival feature the MusicFest. Some of those performing at this year’s festival include Queensryche, Hairbanger’s Ball, the Modern Day Romeos, and Stupidville.
There will also be amusement rides and games, food and beer for purchase, and appearances by characters Elsa, Anna, and Olaf from 'Frozen'.
The McHenry River Run will be held on July 16, taking place at 6:30 am at the McHenry High School East Campus. The next day will have the 32nd annual car show presented by the Northern Illinois Street Rod Association at Petersen Park. Participants will compete for trophies and the first 200 entrants will receive free registration, a goodie bag, and a dash plaque. The car show will be followed by a Family Fun Day.
It is likely that the organizers of this event have invested in flyers from their favorite local print company to help spread the word.
McHenry Fiesta Days will be held at Petersen Park from July 15 to 24. Admission on July 15 is $10 in advance, or $15 for those aged 11 and over, on July 16 and 17 it is $5, although amusement ride tickets are extra. Call 815-385-4300 to learn more.
