Annual Ball helps holidays go swimmingly for sailor trainees

The 2nd annual Masonic Ball will be taking place in McHenry this May. It is hosted by Grand Lodge of Ancient, Free and Accepted Masons of the State of Illinois, McHenry Lodge No. 158.

Proceeds from the event will go towards the Christmas Day Great Lakes Adopt-a-Sailor Dinner. The program provides trainee sailors who are away from home for the holidays with a celebration, including breakfast, movie showings, free phone calls, photographs, cards to send home to family members, and a dinner with all the trimmings.

The Ball will feature a cocktail reception, dinner, dancing, and a silent auction. The inaugural Ball featured a guest speaker and no doubt there will be one this year. Musical entertainment will be provided by The Legacy Girls, who perform music from the 30s and 40s in the style of groups like The Andrews Sisters.

Events like this are often advertised in the community using products such as posters, brochures, and flyers. McHenry printing companies can provide them for a reasonable price while advising on design and what works best for what type of event.

The Ball is being held at the McHenry Country Club on May 24 from 5:00 pm - 11:00 pm. Ticket prices are not listed publicly, but can be found by contacting Wayne Kreuter at 815-385-2386.
