Gurnee library offers computer skills training
A library in Gurnee is set to offer a course teaching computer skills to area residents with the goal of improving tech literacy and new skills.
The Basic Computer Skills Training course, which is open to all interested parties 18 and over, will begin teaching classes designed to help each student upgrade their knowledge and skills related to using computers. Students will be able to leave the workshop with the ability to avoid some of the headaches associated with using a computer at home or in the office.
The session will cover several topics, including Internet Safety Basics, Basic Keyboarding, Introduction to Email, Intro to Office 360 Products, and Basic Computer Skills. Students who enroll will enjoy a three-week class format, with class sessions meeting twice per week. Brochure printing can help promote such classes by sharing information about what the course includes and the benefits it provides.
Students must be able to commit to 12 hours of classwork to complete the class and earn certification. Individuals who complete the class will also receive a laptop upon its conclusion. Interested parties can contact Chandes Atkins with questions or requests for information.
The classes will begin on Saturday, August 2 at 10:00 AM and will end at noon. The Warren-Newport Public Library in Gurnee will host the sessions, and registration is available online for free.
