Youth mental health program visits Gurnee

A mental health program geared toward the area’s youth is coming to Gurnee next month, giving these individuals and their parents the resources for improved mental wellness.

The Youth Mental Health Aid, presented by Warren Township Youth and Family Services, is gearing up for an informational program designed to help children and families in Gurnee. The program focuses on teaching concerned adults who have frequent interactions with children the techniques and tips to best help the students and youth in their charge.

Attendees will learn the proper steps to take when attempting to help a child who is facing addiction or mental health challenges to reach a safe resolution for all parties. Instructors will share the common mental health obstacles today’s children face and the planned responses to use. Brochure printing can help at such workshops by presenting more information to attendees in one convenient document.

The workshop will provide attendees with a complimentary pizza lunch. Teachers who register will also have the potential to earn Continuing Education credits by attending. Interested parties with more questions can contact Youth Services at Warren Township.

Registration will close for the program one week before the start date. It will be held at Warren Township Youth & Family Services in Gurnee on Friday, September 19th. Registration starts at 8:00 AM. Attendance is free for interested parties.
