The construction of a WinCo Food Store to anchor the proposed Linder Village development in Meridian, which would be a mixed-use project of 81 acres, was discussed at the recent meeting of the City Council.
Linder Village would include both single family detached or attached homes, along with 13 mixed-use commercial buildings.
This is one of the two new stores in Meridian that WinCo is planning. One would be on Overland Road on a piece of property measuring 18.75 acres. There would be seven lots in total, one for the store itself and the remaining six for other types of commercial buildings.
The property does not need to be rezoned, but WinCo has submitted a request for a subdivision plan for the building lots. Print shops could be used for plots of land like this to let those in the community become aware of what is proposed for such land.
The WinCo store proposed at Linder Village is still under discussion, as neighbors in the community are requesting the store be located east of the development with a road connection to the big-box building. The proposed smaller stores by WinCo in the development have been met with approval, but there are concerns about noise from trucks at loading docks should a larger store be built within the development.
