Two restaurants expand to Meridian

The new Northpoine Retail Plaza strip center in Meridian will be the home for the second stores of Tin Roof Tacos and Fanci Freez.

Fanci Freeze has had only one store since it was first opened in 1946, while Tin Roof opened its first store in downtown Boise in January 2016. Both stores in Meridian are scheduled to open in in late March or April of 2018.

The owners of the two eateries have come to know each other as they are expanding to the same strip center and like the idea of its location among many small communities.

Tin Roof Tacos is owned by Susan Loyd with her sister Sandy Broun, and they both said that a large shopping center location was not what they were looking for. Kitchen prep work will be done in Meridian for both stores. It will be slightly larger than the one in Boise with capacity for 75 people, which is 15 more than the Boise store.

Bill Hawes, the owner of the Fanci Freez, wants to continue the feel of the neighborhood operation of the original store. There will be indoor seating as well as a walk-up window at the Meridian store.

Banner printing companies can be used by stores like these for the announcement of scheduled openings and to publicize their special offerings.
