Pie shop to open in Meridian

Marie Callender’s, a chain based in California that features savory and sweet pies and a menu focused on comfort food, will be opening in Meridian on Fairview Avenue.

This shop is part of the Pine43 development, which is a large project in central Meridian that features commercial spaces, homes, and other amenities and runs from Pine to Fairview. This shop is near the intersection of Locust Grove Road and Fairview Avene where the Fred Mayer store is located.

This new restaurant will be smaller than the one it previously had in Boise, which was over 10,000 square feet and is now the home of Life’s Kitchen. The Meridian location will span 2,300 square feet and have a bakery and kitchen. It will be able to accommodate 40 people inside the restaurant with patio tables outdoors.

Marie Callender’s typically serves a wide range of pies ranging from blueberry and German chocolate to lemon meringue. Also on the menu are pot pies, burgers, and other items. Local printing services can help with printing Menus and creating Flyers for weekly specials for such new eateries in town.

An accomplished baker, Marie Callender started her pie business in Orange County California in the 1940s, delivering freshly baked pies to restaurants in the area. The Elite Restaurant Group bought the chain in 2019. There are now 27 Marie Callender’s restaurants in the country.
