The brothers Mike and Rob Barnes will be opening the Selkirk Pickleball Pro Shop in Meridian tomorrow. It will be on N. Eagle Road in a small retail center at the intersection of Ustick and Eagle Roads.
The store will sell paddles and accessories and Apparel from Selkirk. It will also have an indoor skinny court where customers can try out paddles before purchasing them as well as experts trained in paddles to provide consultations of a personalized nature based on a player’s skill level and style. Local Print shops can help promote such new stores and their products.
The business was founded by the brothers in their father’s basement in 2014 Coeur d’Alene while they were still in high school. Ther father is their production manager. Rob Barnes said that it was important for them to open their flagship store in Idaho as the Boise area seemed to them to be the natural choice. He said the community is growing and is active in pickleball and they wanted to give back to the community by creating a hub to support the game and help it to grow in the area.
The store will open tomorrow, Thursday April 3. A grand opening celebration will be held on Saturday April 12 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at which there will be demonstrations of paddles, food trucks, giveaways, and promotions.
