The Meridian City Council has approved Apex Zenith of Brighton Corp. This is the man commercial component of its master planned community, which spans over 800 acres.
The proposed commercial space will cover 150 acres and will be at the southeast corner of Meridian and Lake Hazel Roads. Plans for the space include 100,000 square feet of retail space, 100,000 square feet of office or medical space, a box store potentially being a Costco spanning 346,000 square feet, and over 58 acres of residential units. The new homes will add to those already in the Pinnacle community.
Banner printing can be used at such sites to inform residents of significant upcoming developments.
The president of development for Brighton Corp., Jon Wardle, said that this development will contribute to creating a new identity for South Meridian.
Wardle explained that the project will be built in two phases. The retail and office components will be built in the first phase. This will include the box store or warehouse and will also include improvements to the roadway on the west and north sides of the site. For the second phase, Brighton will return to the city with detailed design plans for the remainder of the property, including the residential units.
The road work would begin in June and improvements to the other public roads would begin in August. The commercial space is expected to open in August 2026.
