Construction is underway on the Old Town Lofts in downtown Meridian.
The mixed-use project comprised of two four-story buildings will have office space, shops, restaurants, and apartments in the downtown area on Main Street. Josh Evarts, a businessman from Meridian, and The Pacific Companies, a development company which has built several multifamily projects in the area, are responsible for the project.
Tammy de Weerd, mayor of Meridian, commented that this project is a major achievement for the downtown area. Evarts added that new businesses will come to the downtown area as a result of the project and create opportunities for young professionals and families to live in the heart of the city. The project will provide a reason for people to remain in the city at the end of the day. Promotional Products are often used to advertise the many benefits of such developments.
There will be commercial space on the first floor, which will contain 16,000 square feet of restaurant, retail, and office space, and 103 apartment units on the top three floors. There will be onsite parking offering 108 spaces, bike storage, a community room, and a fitness studio for use by residents of the apartment units.
Two of the apartment units will be reserved for Our Path Home, a local public-private partnership designed to address issues of homelessness.
The project is expected to be completed in November of this year.
