New chicken restaurant to come to Meridian

Dave’s Hot Chicken will be coming to Meridian this fall.

The restaurant will be located in what was once the Kneaders Bakey & Cafe on Eagle Road in Meridian. Dave’s Hot Chicken is a fast-casual restaurant that specializes in hot chicken sliders and tenders, as well as a selection of side dishes that include creamy macaroni and cheese, kale slaw made in-house, and crispy French fries. Its chicken is offered at seven levels of spiciness, from No Spice to the super-hot Reaper. Each piece of chicken is hand-breaded and spiced to order.

Dave’s Hot Chicken started as a pop-up restaurant four years ago in a parking lot in Hollywood, California by classically-trained chef Dave Kopushyan, Arman Oganesyan, and two friends in 2017. It grew quickly in popularity with lines wrapping around the block. There are now over 500 brick-and-mortar locations of the chain across the United States.

The opening for Dave’s Hot Chicken is scheduled for November and will be joining other hot chicken chains in the area that include Clucks Nashville Hot Chicken, which opened in late 2021, and Burnin’ Mouth, which will open this summer.
