Pearl House Collective, an online bookstore, is looking to open a brick-and-mortar location in downtown Meridian.
Owned by Chase and Chelsea Major, the store sells new and used Books at pop-up markets in the area, and has an online store selling printed Books and audiobooks. The planned store will be called Fourth Street Books and will be on NE Fourth Street in Old Town Meridian.
Flyers and Brochures created by local Print shops can be distributed around town to publicize the openings of such new retail establishments.
In addition to offering Books, the shop will have a small café where there will be a selection of tea and coffee, as well as wine and canned beer. There will also be different activities and workshops to showcase the work of local artists on a rotating basis. Some seating options will be made available for customers as they peruse the selection of poetry, literary fiction, translations, and other titles.
The owners will be renovating an old home that spans about 800 square feet for the store to create a curated and intimate bookstore. There will also be a small backyard which can be used as a community space for people to gather, and for such events as book clubs, poetry readings, and book signings.
The hours for the shop will be from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm Tuesday through Saturday.
