Meridian to grow with new developments

Several projects are being planned in Meridian this year.

There will be two new Albertsons stores with expected opening dates in late summer or early fall of 2018. One facility is 110,000 square feet in size in the former Shopko location at Eagle Road and Fairview Avenue, and Albertsons plans to renovate it. This will make it among the largest, if not the largest, store of its kind in the state of Idaho.

There is also a new commercial development, Firenze Plaza, in South Meridian, where the second store will be located. Its opening will be soon after the opening of the other store.

The Hill, a development that will include a city park, St. Luke’s clinic, a YMCA, and an elementary school, is planned for South Meridian too.

Currently under construction is the YMCA, which will be the first full YMCA facility in Meridian. A center for lifestyle medicine will occupy 8,000 square feet at the facility, which is to be run by St. Luke’s.

A shipping container will be repurposed by the Meridian Library District, so it can open a children’s library. The expectation is for this to be open in time for the summer reading program.

Flyer printing companies can be used for situations like these give out information about such projects and the benefits they will bring to the community.
