A new all-you-can-eat Asian restaurant is now opened in Meridian.
Umi Japanese Shabu Shabu is in the Pine 43 development on Fairview Avenue. It offers a hot pot experience where the food is cooked at one’s table. A meal includes appetizers, broth, seafood, and meat and a wide range of Japanese-style hot pot options.
To dine at Umi, the diner selects their broth and orders meat from their server. They can then go to the food bar where there is seafood, vegetables, and noodles to create a Shabu plate. The server then brings the broth to a boil and diners add vegetables to the broth to let them cook. Meat is cooked one piece at a time by letting it sit in the broth for 10 seconds.
Included in the price of a meal are bottled and hot teas. Alcoholic beverages are also available and not included in the all-you-can-east price. Umi has a full bar, and its signature drink is a shot of Japanese whiskey.
Uni opened its first location in Salt Lake City in 2022 and has been extremely popular in that city. New eateries in a city can turn to flyer printing to promote themselves and their specialties.
Umi is open Sunday through Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
