Discount grocer to open in Meridian

Work is currently underway on a Trader Joe’s to be located on Eagle Road in Meridian, in the space once occupied by Rosauers.

In addition to a permit submitted to the City of Meridian for the build-out of the grocery store itself, there have been five other permits. One is for a sign on the building over the entrance by Idaho Electric Signs. Another is to install heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning equipment in the building by TML Service Experts.

The job of installing a vacuum system and carrying out the plumbing work for the store is being applied for by Buss Mechanical. A permit for the installation of electrical connections for Trader Joe’s has been applied for by RME Inc., and Thrope Fire Sprinkler Services has applied to install fire sprinklers.

Close to 17,000 square of the old Rosauers store will be occupied by Trader Joe’s, while the rest of the building is planned to be rented out to other retailers. The formal opening date of the store has not been announced, but banner printing can be used at such sites once dates have been determined.

The opening of this store will make it the second location of grocer in the area. In 2014, a location in downtown Boise opened on the corner of Front Street and Capitol Boulevard.
