The Tony Award-winning Alliance Theatre has announced a week-long camp for young thespians in grades 1 through 8. This five-day workshop is intended for young dramatists of all experience levels, with activities designed to offer all students a chance to explore the arts and grow their creative abilities. Camp attendees will build such diverse skills as teamwork, empathy, self-confidence, creativity, and emotional resilience. Students of the workshop will also present a short performance for family and friends highlighting their growth and progress.
According to the Alliance Theatre website, the camp’s focus is on:
“the journey of learning, encouraging students to embrace their unique creative expression while developing essential life skills.”
The camp is sponsored in partnership with Trilith Institute, a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to advancing the development of young artists.
The Alliance Theatre Drama Camp will be held at The Forest School, located at 155 Shepperton Way in Fayetteville. The dates for the event are July 21 through July 25. Lunch is not provided, so attendees should plan on bringing their own. A limited number of scholarships are available and require an application through an online portal. Organizers of events such as this can publicize them by using poster printing or other services from Print shops.
