The Board of Directors for Piedmont Fayette Hospital has announced a $275 million expansion of its campus to help care for community needs. Plans include the inclusion of a new patient tower building and will include undesignated space set aside for future use. The renovation will also include four new operating rooms, a kitchen, a new pharmacy, and a new utility plant. The loading dock will also be renovated and expanded.
The growth will involve about 218,000 square feet of new space in total, with over 31,000 square feet in renovated space. The plans represent the first campus growth since 2017, when the East Tower opened. Business Cards and other services from Print shops are used for business promotion and announcements.
Steve Porter, CEO of Piedmont Fayette Hospital, clearly has an eye on future community needs. He stated:
“This expansion is necessary to care for the needs of the greater community and to continue to provide high-quality, patient-centered care.”
Once known as Fayette Community Hospital, Piedmont Fayette has grown into a regional medical center. It opened in 1997 with just 54 beds but today has grown to 310, employs over 2,300 people, performs over 13,000 surgeries each year, and hosts over 130,000 outpatients.
Construction on the expansion is set to begin in early 2026 with expected completion in 2029.
