A 28-acre site in Atlanta will be opened by the enterprise next month. If Porsche managers want to promote the new location, they could opt to employ a Print company in Fayetteville.
The new facility is expected to be worth about $100m. One Porsche Drive is adjacent to one corner of the international airport. This was reportedly influential in determining the location of the site in question. However, the quality of the local workforce was also a critical factor, according to Detlev von Platen, the chief executive of the organization.
Mr. von Platen has told the Atlanta Business Chronicle another major reason for the decision, stating:
“First, because it is on the East Coast. This is very important because it is close to the German time zone and it has the main U.S. markets.”
Back in January, the American section of Mercedes-Benz declared that it was moving its base to Atlanta. The shift of headquarters by Mercedes-Benz was reportedly due to the desire to attract a high quality labor force.
The maintenance of long-term competitiveness is a big concern for the chief executive officer Stephen Cannon. The decision of Mercedes-Benz will stimulate the local economy and could lead to the creation of 1,000 positions. If the move by Porsche is considered too, Georgia is going to be a major hub for the auto sector.
