A fun tradition is returning to Fayetteville, with the annual Suds on the Square event scheduled to take place soon. This is the fifth year for the event.
Suds on the Square is the signature wine and beer festival in Fayette County, and takes place downtown, on Fayetteville’s Old Courthouse Square. There will be a variety of wines and local craft beers for festival attendees to sample. The event is family-friendly and will feature food to enjoy and games to play. Two bands, Yurp and Shepard’s Pie, will provide live music.
Yurp, from Atlanta, has been playing alternative rock for nearly 10 years. Their sound mixes classic Southern rock with new age metal. Fans have described them as sounding like mainstream groups such as Nickelback. Shepard’s Pie, a five-piece group, is described as having a 1970s sound.
The Kiwanis Club of Fayette County is sponsoring the event, which is a fundraiser for various charities in the county. Organizers of events like this can work with Print shops to create Signs that direct visitors to various brewers, wineries, and food providers, as well as any games or amusements.
Suds on the Square is set for May 11, from 12:00 noon until 5.00 pm, rain or shine. In order to sample alcohol, an attendee must have an ID, and be at least 21 years of age. Designated drivers will enjoy free admission.
