Fayetteville lovers of 1970s pop music will soon have an opportunity to put on their dancing shoes.
The soul and funk group KC and the Sunshine Band is slated to perform at The Ville Amp in early May. The band will perform hits from the era in their high-energy stage show. Some of the hits music fans may recall include “Get Down Tonight” and “That’s the Way (I Like It).”
C+C Music Factory is scheduled to appear onstage at the event as well. Pop music fans may remember their 1990 hit “Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now).”
KC and the Sunshine Band was founded in 1973 by frontman Harry Wayne Casey and Richard Finch. The band incorporated Casey’s surname into the band’s name, and the latter part of the band’s handle reflects their Florida roots, having first come together in 1973 in Hialeah, Florida.
Several food trucks will appear on-site at the concert, including Jalapeno Express BBQ and Tasty Sausage. Craft beverages will be available for purchase, and patrons are allowed to bring a small personal cooler of drinks. FreshTix is the official ticketing agency for this event, and tickets are on sale now. Organizers of events such as this one can publicize their events by utilizing printing services.
The show is scheduled for Friday, May 2, and is set to begin at 7:00pm on the night. The Ville Amp is located at 301 Lafayette Avenue in Fayetteville.
