One of the biggest stars in popular music will appear soon in the Fayetteville area.
Canadian singer Celine Dion is due to entertain fans at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, in what promises to be a concert to welcome a new year in style.
Dion was born in Charlemagne, in the province of Quebec, less than 20 miles from Montreal, into a musical family. She says she always wanted to sing, and wrote her first song, in collaboration with her mother and brother, when she was 12. Dion first became popular in Quebec, then around the world as she won several competitions, including the Eurovision Song Contest.
Her real breakthrough came with her work on the Disney film ‘Beauty and the Beast’ in 1991. She began to develop a soft pop rock style, combined with classical and soul music. She has sold over 200 million albums worldwide, and her tours, along with her Las Vegas show, which ran for 16 years, have earned over $1.4bn.
A review of a concert said that during a two-hour performance, Dion:
“…slayed each and every song she sang from her three-decades long catalog that ranged from some of her earliest hits to two new songs off her upcoming 'Courage' album . . .”
Celine Dion will appear at the State Farm Arena on January 11, at 7.30 pm. Poster printing is frequently used when events like this are scheduled.
