Host training event to occur in Fayetteville

So You Want to Be a Host? is a course set to take place in Fayetteville next month.

Summer Jackson, who often leads courses and events on public speaking, media training, and hosting will be the instructor for the course.

This hosting course is suitable for anyone who wishes to learn about varying types of on-camera hosting, including social media livestreams, interviews, teleprompting, and red carpet hosting, as well as traditional co-hosting and hosting. Enrollment is priced at $299 per person and is available online. Certification is included for those who complete the course.

The six-hour in-person Fayetteville event will include topics like general terminology, content development and planning, the basics of teleprompter skills, how to handle live interviews, how to lead effective and entertaining interviews, and maintaining the right presence on-camera. Attendees must be willing to perform while being filmed, and should bring a reel as well as a phone, laptop, or other electronic device that allows them to connect to the internet. Poster printing is commonly chosen by the organizers of courses as a highly effective and inexpensive way to produce local advertisements that will capture the attention of anyone who sees them.

This one-day hosting event is scheduled to proceed at the Georgia Media Academy from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on Saturday, February 20.
