A new downtown is beginning to emerge with the breaking of ground in Fayetteville.
City officials, members of the community, and builders recently joined to break ground for the new City Hall & City Center Park in Fayetteville.
The building will sit on two acres along West Stonewall Avenue that also includes a plaza with space for both quiet relaxation and simple exercise. A walking path wanders through the plaza, and an outdoor classroom is planned. Following the path will lead people to City Center Park.
The park will cover eight acres, and offers a dog park, picnic pavilion, a pond, a playground, and splash pad for children, and a concrete stream. A sweeping lawn with facilities for performances is included in the park, and two existing buildings, the Bus Barn and the Fayette County High School Gymnasium, will be renovated.
A new mixed-use development will be located on the south side of the new park; construction of the Walton Communities' project is set to begin in Spring 2020. New parking areas and public streets will work with both the new developments and existing properties, including the Fayette County Public Library, and the Fayette County Administrative Complex.
The entire development is projected to cover 10 acres, and should be finished early in 2021 at the latest, depending on weather conditions. Brochure printing can be used to create Booklets illustrating the amenities of projects like this.
