The Georgia Film Academy in Fayetteville will be holding an introductory film course this January that will teach its students the basics of various onset film production techniques, equipment, organization, and procedures.
It is the first course required for a certification program that will give participants a total of 18 credit hours when completed.
The teachers of the introductory course (all of them being well-seasoned professionals of film, TV and other media industries), as well as for all the other courses, will utilize videos, lectures, PowerPoint presentations, and handouts printed by printing services to teach their students.
Teachers will also demonstrate the usage of certain equipment and set operations before allowing the students to try operating these pieces of equipment and performing these operations themselves. By the end of the class, students should not only be able to know the names of all the jobs on a film production set and see how each part works in sync with all the others, but also know how to promote themselves and utilize networking within the film industry.
The introductory film course will start on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at 9:00 am. It will take place at Trilith Studio, which is located at 461 Sandy Creek Road. The cost for the course will be $750. More information can be found at the event listing.
