In recognition of Georgia Cities Week 2021, the city of Fayetteville will be offering free paper shredding, as well as recycling of glass and electronics, next month.
Shred and Recycle Days have proved popular with residents in the past and the city expects this year will be no different. Those who wish to drop off documents or recyclables are asked to use the entrance to city Center Park accessible via Stonewall Avenue West, located between Fayetteville City Hall and the Fayetteville Cemetery. From there, a lane will take them back to the recycling and shredding stations.
Spreading the word about special events can be made easier with the help of a poster printing service.
There is a limit of 10 file storage Boxes of paper or three 13-gallon trash Bags per person. Nothing but paper will be accepted, so no binders or binder clips. Glass recycling will be for household glass only and should include no windows, auto glass or ceramics. Electronics accepted for recycling include small kitchen appliances, computers, and other small devices.
Televisions, regardless of size, will not be accepted for the glass or electronic recycling.
Volunteers will be on hand to provide information and instructions, but participants should be prepared to haul their own recyclables and papers to the receptacles.
The city’s website will offer word search games and coloring sheets designed for Georgia Cities Week. Printed copies of these will also be available in limited quantities at City Hall.
The session will be from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon on Saturday, October 9.
