Fayetteville shows its support with 5K run

An annual run is taking place in Fayetteville next month.

The Southern Conservation Trust extends an invitation for individuals to participate in 6th Annual Run the Ridge 5K, which will support Fayette County. Adding intrigue to the event is the newly introduced Turtle Trot, a one-mile run suitable for all age groups. The Trot will also include a treasure hunt. Participants of this event will receive a limited-edition souvenir.

For those unable to participate on the day, there is an option to join virtually, with further details forthcoming. Those who would like to volunteer for the event are encouraged to reach out to natasha@sctlandtrust.org.

The registration cost is now $40 for the in-person main event participation. The Turtle Trot event will cost $15, while virtual runners will pay a $20 participation fee. Early pickup details for packets will be announced soon.

Awards will be presented to the top overall female and male finishers, and female and male Masters finishers. Additionally, first, second, and third place participants across various age groups will receive recognition. Turtle Trotters and Virtual Racers will not be eligible for awards.

Banner printing can be a great way for organizers to label start and finish lines at events such as this one.

The date of the event will be Saturday, February 10, beginning at 8:30 am. The Ridge Nature Area at 390 Burch Road, Fayetteville will be the location.
