Fayetteville is bringing Christmas to its Main Street

Christmas is on the way to Fayetteville, and the city is getting ready to celebrate.

“Christmas on Main Street” is a highly anticipated annual event that everyone where the fun begins with the Christmas Parade, which will wind through Courthouse Square. Parade participants will begin the march at the Fayette County Justice Center, and head north from there, up Lee Street to the Historic Courthouse.

The parade will make a left turn at the Courthouse and continue on Stonewall Avenue to Heritage Park Way, where it will turn the corner to head east to South Glynn Street. After making a right turn onto South Glynn, the parade will head south, then make a left turn onto Melear Way, and continue straight to Center Drive. The parade will end where it began, at the Fayette County Justice Center. Banner printing can be used to provide decorations to line the route of events like this.

After the parade concludes, Santa and Mrs. Claus will be found in the Lane Brown Gazebo, where they will visit with Fayetteville residents and families. Christmas music will be sung by various vocalists, including a choir.

After the parade winds down, people should make their way to Heritage Park, which is nearby, for the lighting of the Christmas tree. Joyce Waits the program manager for Main Street programs, notes that Christmas on Main Street is one of their most popular and well-attended events.

Christmas on Main Street is set for December 7, with the parade starting at 5:00 pm.
