Fayetteville fire festival blends fun and education

A fall festival will soon be combining fire safety with autumn themes.

This year’s celebration will have a variety of activities meant for amusement and information. Attendees will get the opportunity to interact with the local firefighters, thereby learning about their vital services. The organizers’ goal is to create an environment where the community can engage with first responders away from an emergency scenario.

One major highlight of this festival will be the display of fire trucks. Visitors are invited to get into them and learn more about how firefighters work. An inflatable axe-throwing booth will also be included, offering a safe way for people to test out their skills.

Educational activities are a big part of the festival. Phoenix the Fire Safety Bus will be there providing live demonstrations on how to stay safe from fire. Sparky, the Fire Dog mascot, will also be on hand to entertain youngsters while he teaches them about safety protocols related to fires. Flyer printing can be used to share educational information.

In celebration of autumn, Main Street will provide hayrides through which individuals can tour the area. Children will also have the opportunity to dress up in Halloween costumes for trick-or-treating in a controlled and safe environment.

The Fire Department's Annual Fall Festival in Fayetteville is scheduled for Saturday, October 26 at 95 Johnson Avenue.
