At a recent town hall meeting, David Knight of Walton Communities updated the city council and residents on plans for the company's development, proposed for downtown Fayetteville.
There had been two previous meetings about the project development, with residents expressing some concern that traffic would be impacted negatively because of the location chosen for the development. However, Knight and Walton Communities have responded to residents' concerns, and modified the plans for the site.
A great many of the objections seemed to center on Walton's plan to build townhomes near Grady Avenue. At an earlier meeting, Knight said it would be possible for his company to construct single-family homes instead of townhomes at that site. He reiterated that statement at the latest meeting, saying as many as 44 houses could be built; they would be priced from the high $200Ks to low $300Ks.
Knight also said there would not be apartments along Beauregard Boulevard, but instead the area will be left as parkland, with only a road running through it to connect with Beauregard. Projects like this can benefit if developers work with a brochure printing company to create informative Booklets for prospective tenants.
In total, the plan shows seven buildings of three stories each, offering 278 apartments; as many as 44 single-family homes; and another 23,000 square feet that could be used for offices or retail space. The next step in the process is to bring the plan before the Planning and Zoning Commission.
