Artist to host event in Fayetteville

The Fayette County Library will host an art event with the artist Pilliard Dickle in March. During this event, the artist will teach guests about how he creates his art, Calendars, and stories.

Dickle, whose real name is Joe Chandler, is a visual artist known mostly for his calendars. These feature elaborate fantasy scenes in the world of Calenderia. This is a fantasy world based around the dates on the calendar. A story is usually told in the images of these calendars. He has also collaborated with other illustrators, such as Paul Kircher and David Boyd.

The artist states that he came up with the inspiration for these works due to his form of synaesthesia. This is a condition that often causes individuals' senses to mix, such as the ability to see sounds or taste colors. In Dickle's case, he sees time as colors and shapes.

Dickle is also known for some other works and antics, such as his “A Novel Without Words,” and the world's first comic made on a Mobius strip. He even ran a presidential campaign in 2019.

The event will take place on Saturday, March 5 at 10:00 am. The Fayette County Library is located at 1821 Heritage Parkway in Fayetteville. Promoters of events like these may be interested in contacting brochure printing services for assistance.
