Thousands of anime fans expected at Atlanta convention

One of North America’s largest and most popular anime conventions comes to Atlanta next month.

MomoCon will unite enthusiasts of anime, comics, video games, animation and tabletop games at a massive exhibition.

The roots of MomoCon go back to 2004 when Georgia Tech’s anime club was inspired to host an on-campus anime and gaming event that attracted 175 people. It was redesigned the following year and attracted about 700 people. Attendance exploded to 10,000 in 2011 and grew to welcome over 54,000 people over four days in 2024.

The growth and subsequent venue costs meant that the free event had to evolve into a large-scale paid convention. A number of university alumni are still involved, working as part of a large volunteer contingent.

Convention attendees can take part in costuming and cosplay activities as well as have the opportunity to meet writers, designers and talent from their best-loved comics, games and shows. They can also enjoy an extended time browsing the large hall of exhibits.

The 2025 MomoCon convention will include exclusive merchandise vendors, artists, industry booths, fan meet-up groups, interactive gaming, a car showcase, live entertainment, panel speakers, and workshops.

Businesses who participate in large conventions such as this often require printing services in order to professionally promote their products.

MomoCon will take place May 22 to 25, 2025 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.
