The Grant Park Summer Shade Festival in Atlanta is taking place in a month’s time.
The festival for adults and children will have food vendors, music, activities, artists and crafts, and a 5K race.
The Adams Realtor 5K Race For the Park invites runners, walkers, and strollers to participate. There will be awards by different age groups, including a tot trot and stroller race.
Every year, 200 artists and craftspeople display their work. The festival has acrylic paintings, perfume, cosmetics, candles, soap, wind chimes, glass, jewelry, mixed media, oil paintings, photography, pottery, sculpture, textiles, Books, and leather.
The Kids Zone will offer craft activities for the children, storytellers, entertainment, and The Spider Jump. Those that ride their bike to the festival can park it free of charge.
Vendors at the Grant Park Summer Shade Festival offer a variety of food and drink for customers. They can choose from barbecued foods, ice cream, coffee, sushi, hot dogs, hamburgers gyros, mac and cheese, pizza, tacos, salads, fish, funnel cakes and soft drinks.
There will be musical entertainment both days on two stages, with country, blues, rock, folk, and jazz among the genres to enjoy.
Free to attend, the festival is located on Cherokee Avenue. Parking is available in the park’s lots off Boulevard Avenue or Cherokee Ave, and street parking is available too. It will be held in Grant Park on August 25 and 26.
