There are several locations where strawberries are available for picking in the greater Atlanta area, including Washington Farms (which has two locations in Watkinsville and Loganville), Southern Belle Farm in McDonough, Mitcham Farms in Oxford, Warbington Farms in Cumming, Adams Farm in Fayetteville, Mercier Orchards in Blue Ridge, and Payne’s Farm in Calhoun.

Some locations offer more activities than just strawberry picking, so checking the website for the desired location ahead of time is wise to ensure a variety of activities are available that suit individual needs. Activities at some farms include tractor rides, hayrides, live music, arts and crafts, farm animals, and food vendors.

Those hoping to collect strawberries are advised that, before journeying out to a farm, it is sensible to call ahead to make sure they are open, as the season varies in certain areas and certain farms. Some locations will require individuals to bring their own containers to take berries home in. Pickers should also bear in mind that the later they collect their berries in the season, the sweeter they will be.
