SpongeBob musical to be performed in Atlanta
The Brandon Hall School Theatre will host a performance of The SpongeBob Musical. This Broadway hit will be performed by the Atlanta Workshop Players.
The SpongeBob Musical is based on the popular children's television show, SpongeBob SquarePants. It's original opening garnered 12 Tony Award Nominations and much critical praise. The songs themselves were written by multiple top musical artists, including David Bowie, Jonathan Coulton, and Steven Tyler.
The musical brings together most of the original beloved characters including SpongeBob, Squidward, Patrick, Sandy, and Mr. Krabs. The plot centers on SpongeBob and his friends trying to save his hometown of Bikini Bottom from a volcanic eruption.
The Atlanta Workshop Players is a non-profit film school conservatory and performing arts company. It provides its students with professional training in a diverse and supportive atmosphere that helps them reach their full potential.
The company began nearly 40 years ago with a single acting class. It has now had over a million audience members, taught over 22,000 students, and launched multiple successful careers in the entertainment industry.
