Sunday in the Park, sponsored by Historic Oakland Foundation in Atlanta, is rounding off this month with tours, children’s activities, book authors, food, arts and crafts, and living history theater performances during the day.
The Oakland Cemetery is a public park in Atlanta and the event is free to the public. Parking is available for a fee nearby.
During the day, live history performances are given about early women’s civil rights and the first black PTA in Atlanta. Print shops in Atlanta frequently design Promotional Products for events like this.
The Visitors Center will have a group of talented local authors talking about their Books during the day. The topics will be Atlanta’s beer brewing industry, conflict during the Civil War, the history of Atlanta’s Oakland Cemetery, and how African Americans challenged the city’s burial practices in 1886.
The children’s area will have face painting, a teddy bear tea, music, and crafts. There will be lectures on Victorian death traditions, musical entertainment, and a costume contest.
The arts and crafts vendors will have vintage clothing, dresses, coats, jewelry, skincare products, watercolors, ink drawings, acrylic, pillows, and quilts.
Food trucks will sell barbecued foods, burgers, soft drinks, seafood, wings, cheesesteaks, grilled chicken subs, fries, layered potatoes, pizza, and hotdogs.
Sunday in the Park will be held on September 30, from 12:00 noon to 6:00 pm.
