As the COVID-19 outbreak intensifies and stricter measures are introduced, several Atlanta area restaurants are offering delivery services, special takeout Menus, curbside delivery, and even alcohol on a takeout basis.
The Inman Restaurant and Hampton & Hudson restaurants have launched a general store that sells toilet paper, soap, paper towels and food. They used Instagram to advertise this new service.
The owner of Hampton and Hudson, Billy Streck, said they wanted to do something to help the community and bring customers to the restaurant. Streck said that his wife built the online store in a few days, and they started a delivery service. Staff members deliver supplies within three miles. Customers order from the menu online. Pickup and delivery services are from 12 pm – 8 pm daily.
Another Atlanta restaurant, Sun in My Belly, has turned its patio into a farmers’ market. They sell family-style dinners, hummus, pimento cheese, chicken salad, and other foods as advertised on the restaurant’s social media page.
Matt DeBusschere the owner says that produce is moved from the trucks to the patio. All shoppers are given complimentary rubber gloves. This new business model is doing well.
The Restaurant Lazy Dog created Lazy Dog Pantry that offers a care package with milk, eggs, butter, chicken, and toilet paper. They offer takeout and delivery from the menu.
Lastly, Brezza Cucina has created special meals and cocktails kits for takeout. Atlanta has printers that design and provide business card printing.
