The Atlanta Botanical Garden has a variety of outdoor activities for the summer, with concerts, gardening classes, beekeeping, and children’s activities on the agenda.
On June 2 from 5:30 to 11:00 pm, Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder will perform a concert in the garden. The Quick Café and snack bar are open during concerts, which begins at 7:00 pm.
Bee Keeping Get Started provides instruction on how to get started with finding materials and building a beehive. It will be held on June 11 from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. A visit to the botanical garden bee hives is included provided the weather is suitable.
The Mighty O.A.R. and American Authors will perform a concert on June 14 from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm. Gates open at 6:00 pm.
On June 15, from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon, Orchards for Beginners will be conducted. Students will learn basics of growing orchids indoors, and each student will go home with an orchid plant.
A Sizzling Succulent class will take place on June 19 at 6:30 to 8:30 pm. Students learn how to plant succulents such as cacti in their own gardens. Atlanta has Print shops that design and print Business Cards for organizations like this.
The Recipe Refugee Celebration will take place on June 22 and 23 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Chefs will serve recipes with fresh ingredients from the garden. The event is free with admission.
